The Difficult English Paradox

The more difficult the abstract of a paper sounds, the more reliable it seems to the mind. The simpler the English, the more casual it seems even though it may have been better researched.

Probably why people whose language cannot be understood are always assumed to be intelligent. Even though the smartest person is the one who can explain complex problems in a few sentences in layman's terms.
