De-notified Tribes and Justice
Watching Jai Bhim reminded me of my time in Latur where the Solid Waste Management contractors were a new company formed by people from the previously declared 'criminal tribes'. I remember hearing stories of their past. They were so proud of what they had achieved. They would tell me about the time when they were ostracized from society and always considered thieves because of a British era Act and not because of a crime.
These tribes were de-notified in 1949 but this movie is about a story from the '90s. And such cases are fought even today.
The universe was so different from the heights of our urban buildings. It is only when you live on the ground you realise how meaningless and empty your existence is if it doesn't bring up others along with you. Success has no meaning if it's yours alone. You have to work with a collective vision for society while keeping your own personal goals in mind.
I never wanted to use Instagram again because I didn't know what to do with it. With time your priorities change and you outgrow most people you associated with during your teens. But as I kept this account for sharing my hobbies, I realised that someone or the other always wanted to hear what I had to say. And even if it's for one person, you having a voice matters. And finally, your experiences, your viewpoints, your sufferings and learnings are pointless unless you share them with people around you.
