The Soil Called Home
A person's love for their country is much like the love they have for their family. Even if you fight or argue, you stand by each other when it comes to another person pulling them down. You fight with people who have ill intent for your family but then school them later about their wrongs as well. This is one of the things we need to learn from developed nations. They never let their internal matters hamper their unity.
I had once read somewhere that he who cannot belong to their soil, can belong to no one. Maybe this is why it's taken us more than three generations to bring up our society. We've spent years looking west, like poor children sitting with their chin up the railing wondering why we don't have what they have. And in turn we forgot to be proud of who we are. It's time to come out of the inferiority complex so deeply ingrained in us through years of exploitation. Be proud of who you are and where you're from. When you feel good, you get good.
