Raseed

You know the beauty of Sufi music is that it's written as a form of devotion. So even though most of time it's perceived as music of god, it's actually a style of music that 'directs attention inward'. Which means, the same song could have different meaning for different people because it could be perceived as love for anything- a person, a purpose, a dream or god.

'Raseed' by Satinder Sartaaj is one of the finest songs to come out of this generation of Sufi singers. It's description says- "Your task is not to seek for love, but merely to seek and find all the barriers within yourself that you have built against it."

Personally, this song touches me the most when I see it as being about a 'purpose' or 'indecisiveness' because I came across it long back at such a juncture.
