Perpetuity of Being

You are a star.
A huge celestial body
that churns forces within
to create it's own light.

You are some elements
at your core
a part of you existed before
and in your lifetime
you create more.

You are the twinkle
in the sky
and in the hopeful eye
that in you,
a beloved resides.

You are not finite,
there is no beginning
or an end to your might.
A part of your light
makes the world
shine bright.

And when you burn
as much as destined
you break open
to create new life.

Live not, in fear of life itself.
You were, you are and you will be —
till the end of time.

"Stars are huge celestial bodies made mostly of hydrogen and helium that produce light and heat from the churning nuclear forges inside their cores. Stars shine by burning hydrogen into helium in their cores, and later in their lives create heavier elements. Most stars have small amounts of heavier elements like carbon, nitrogen, oxygen and iron, which were created by stars that existed before them. After a star runs out of fuel, it ejects much of its material back into space. New stars are formed from this material. So the material in stars is recycled."

The lifecycle of a star is such a nice metaphor for life. We are born, we create, we dissipate, and we live on in others. We look up at the sky and say, the one we love has now become a star. We have hope that whoever we lost is around us. The truth is— they are. ✨
